Mountmellick Community School
P.E.

P.E. stands for Physical Education. We are lucky enough to have a new sports complex where we have P.E. for a double class once a week. The double class lasts for eighty minutes where we enjoy a variety of different sports changing every three weeks.  P.E. Teacher in the school is Ms Haniffy.

Through the course of the year we are given the opportunity to learn the skills involved in such activities as Aerobics, Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Camogie, Football, Gymnastics, Hurling, Indoor  Hockey, Orienteering, Outdoor Pursuits, Sailing, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Trampolining, and Volleyball and we also do ropes.

Our new sports complex is proving a great influence to our teams of the future.  The physical education department provides a wide and varied programme of activities from First Year through to Fifth Year.  Every pupil is encouraged to become actively involved both in class and extra-curricular games.  Many will experience the thrill of representing the school in regional finals, Leinster.
