Finglas
Where did Finglas get its name?
Finglas or Fionnghlas gets its name from the small river that used to flow through the village. Fionnghlas means pure stream. This stream is now running underneath the dual carriageway. Long ago the people of Finglas used the stream as a source of clean drinking water and for washing.
