We think Dublin is a great place for children.  Here are some of our favourite places to go:

  1. Dr. Quirkes Emporium

Dr. Quirkes is in O'Connell Street.  It is great fun for children and parents to visit together.  At Dr. Quirkes there are lots of things to do and see.  There is a shop , slot machines and lots more.  There is the Milky Way Ride which  is a big machine that goes up and down and side to side.  With the bumpercar you can bumper away all day.  It is very cool.   Across the road from Dr. Quirkes  there is a McDonalds and a big Burger King.  The food is very cool.  Dr .Quirkes is very cool for children and teenagers.

  2. Finglas Swimming Pool

The Finglas swimming pool is the place where kids in Finglas go for lessons and where they go for a swim.  There are lots of things to do and see.  Babies from the age of two are allowed go to swimming as long as they stay in the three foot.  They play games in lessons and there are competitions as well.  Finglas pool is closing soon because the Corporation is improving it.

  3.  Omni Shopping Centre

Omni Shopping Centre is in Santry which is near Finglas on the Northside.  In the Omni there is lots of stuff to do like go to the pictures.  We can go to the Toyshop. There is a Mc Donalds there and the food is very nice. There is a new Burger-King  and a new Pizza-Hut. The Omni has been there since 1983.  It has got done up a lot.  It is really clean too. It has a supermarket there and lots of clothes shops too. It has a very famous cafe called Bewleys.

 4. The Point Dep ot

The Point Depot is a great place to go.  It used to be a big warehouse beside the Liffey.  There is entertainment there now and concerts.  There are Child Line concerts and fashion shows which raise money for charity.  The Child Line concert was on in Febuary.  Bands like Atomic Kittens, Westlife and Bewitched play.  In December there is a 5ive concert.  They also played in March.

5. The Wax Museum

The Wax Museum is near Parnell Square.  At the Wax museum they have life size figures of heroes and famous people of the past.  This museum a joy for children.  Here in the museum you will find our Presidents and our Taoisigh.  There is a separate entrance to the Hall of Megastars.  Here you will meet the pop stars like Michael Jackson, Madonna and Elvis Presley.  For a family day out or just for adventure the National Wax museum is well worth a visit.

  6. Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo is in the Phoenix Park.  It is the second oldest zoo in the world.  Lots of baby animals are born in the zoo.  The MGM lion that roars before films was a Dublin Zoo lion.  The last time I went to the Zoo there were lots of things to do and to see.  I went to see the Polar Bears, Seals, Pigs, White Tigers and much much more animals. There is a excellent Aquaeruim too.  There is a gift shop too and a lot more shops too. I love going to the zoo and watching the Polar bears diving down to the bottom of their enclosures to catch the fish.  The Polar bears are good to watch because when they dive down they dive like a human! I love going to the zoo!  If you ever come down to Dublin be sure to visit DUBLIN ZOO.
