What kinds of birds visit your school?  We see a lot of birds at our school. Some birds we see are blue jays, robins, and hawks.  What is your favorite type of bird?  My favorite bird is a bald eagle.  That's our nation's bird.  What is your nation's bird.  These are some birds I see:

THE BALD EAGLE

The national bird of America

The Bald Eagle is the national bird of America. The bald eagle is a symbol of courage and power.  The length of the eagle is about three feet.  The wingspread is about seven feet.  It's not really bald, but has white feathers on its head.

My favorite native bird is the bald eagle. Some interesting facts about the bald eagle are, they are the United States national bird, they have a wingspan of seven feet, and their body is less than forty inches. Bald eagles eat fish from streams and lakes. They also steal fish from ospreys and seagulls.

My favorite bird is the Bald Eagle because I think it is neat the way they catch their prey. they like to eat fish, aquatic birds, and mammals. They are very big and have claws. Bald Eagles have great eyesight and color vision. Their wingspan is more than two meters wide which is about seventy-six inches in height. Bald Eagles are America’s country bird.

The Eastern Goldfinch

The state bird of New Jersey

The Eastern Goldfinch is my favorite bird. It is also the New Jerseys state bird. This bird lays six to four eggs a year . The male bird is bright yellow and has a black forehead. It has white edges on black wings and tail, and yellow at the bend of the tail. The female is duller and grayer with black wings, tail, and white wing bars. I often see the Eastern Goldfinch in my yard. As I am walking or riding my bike it flashes by me through the air like a piece of gold!

The Eastern Goldfinch is the New Jersey state bird. Its color is gold with black and white feathers. It is smaller than a sparrow. Its habitat is brushy thickets, weedy grasslands, and nearby trees. It lays 4-5 pale blue eggs. Sometimes I see one on our bird feeder. That is why I think Eastern Goldfinches are cool.

The Red-Tailed Hawk is a large raptor, also known as a Chicken Hawk. The Red-Tailed Hawk is the most common hawk in North America. They eat small animals, rodents, rabbits, snakes and other birds. This bird is very widespread and lives in places such as swamps, deserts, and open fields. The average size of a Red-Tailed Hawk is 20 inches and 21/2 pounds with a wingspan of 4-41/2 feet. You can identify this bird by it’s brown/ gray body, white chest and square cut tail feathers. I hope this bird never becomes extinct.
