This the village of Drumcondra or Drumconrath, Co. Meath.
The signpost on the left points to the road to Loughbracken and Nobber.
Because of its location in a relatively remote rural area, the village retains many of the features of days long gone by.
Having turned left at the sign post, some 2 km further along the road a traveller to Nobber will pass a boreen to the left that leads to a small lake - the enchanting Lough Bracken. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills and forest.
The only sounds to be heard are those of the sheep on the hills, the hooting owls in the woods and the sound of rain falling on the surface of the lake.
About 8 km from Drumcondra the road intersects with the main road to Nobber and Kingscourt - the R162. Facing the junction is Nobber's new cemetery in the townland of Spiddal. This small cemetery is perfectly maintained and many local surnames including Clarke, Carolan, Condra, and McEntee may be seen on the headstones of those interred here.
The old cemetery is in the grounds of the disused Roman Catholic Church of St. John in Nobber. This small cemetery is still in use. Sadly most of it is very overgrown with vegetation and many of the headstones cannot be read. Some of the stones date from the 1700's.
