Basketball International Affairs A student of our school, Edel Brennan made the Irish Cadette team last year and remains a part of the team. Trials for the position were held at eight centres in Ireland and up to three hundred players attended. The final panel was cut down to fifteen, and Edel was one of these lucky and talented few. The team recently played in the Four Nations Basketball Tournament which was held in Sligo. Inter-Regional Affairs The school also had three students selected for the North-West U-18 Inter-Regional team in 1998. Patricia Roddy, Sinead Hughes and Catherine O'Meara were the luck three players selected. The competition was held in Limerick on October 23-35 and the North-West team were successful in winning the Plate. Primary School Blitz Mercy College has organised a Primary School Blitz for the past three years.
