Mercy Philosophy of Education

THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
The Mercy school community consists of parents, students, staff and management personnel sharing a common vision of mercy education. Each member of this community participates in the educational process by the example of a Christian way of life and by recognising the dignity of each individual.

Encourage respect for the complimentary gender role of male and female and to promote equality of opportunity for all.

Enable them to promote Christian values of collaboration in society, maintaining a deep concern for, and involvement in, community and an awareness of the Church as the people of God.

Nurture in the students, a sensitivity to those who have special needs.

Prepare the students by academic and practical training for adult living and to promote in them a co-operative spirit so that they can make a conservative sontribution to society.

Enable students to live in reverent relationships with all of creation and to nurture in them a respect for life and care for the earth.
