The Merville United 300 Club Commenced in February 2005, following an appeal to provide finance for the Development of Facilities for Sport for young people at our club base at Merville Community Centre.  No money from this fund goes in day to day running of the Club.

The Merville United 300 Club is now looking for new members for 2008. We expect to reach our funding target over the coming year for an extensive renewal of the Playing Surface at Merville, but this only be achieved with continued and new membership. Please contact any committee member for details.

10 euro monthly buys 2 numbers in the draw for cash prizes.

Merville United 300 Club Development Draw: 2007 Annual Update for Members

Thank you for your support over the last year for the Development of Sport Facilities for Young People. Your contribution has made a big impact in improving the playing surface, and in turn making the access to sport for children safer, easier and more enjoyable.

The 300 Club over the last year provided funding for new goalposts, the first new full size set in over 30 years of football at Merville.  When commissioned at the start of 2006/07 season, this equipment has provided flexibility in the marking of the playing pitch, so that areas that are under extreme wear, such as the goal area, can be taken out of use when needed.  This will provide improved playing safety for all our players in forthcoming years, which is of paramount importance. The Club also provided a Steel Container, which was essential to store all the equipment at a location close to the pitch, for easy access at games.  This has become more apparent, as the renovations currently taking place at Merville Community Centre mean that we have temporarily no dressing rooms until the end of the season, and the container is being utilised in that regard.

Your support for the 300 club is already investing in the long term future of the playing facilities.  However, the initial vital community contribution needed to apply for funding from the National Lottery has not yet been met, and we will make an application for a new sand based playing surface in November 2007, should we reach the amount required of 20,000 euro.  This simply will not happen without your involvement, and if successful, will provide state of the art amenities next year for future generations.

This is the impact that each and every member can feel proud of, and it’s only the beginning.  Your continued support will ensure that your investment will be maintained, improved and added to for the benefit of all in our area.  It is an investment in the health and welfare of young people for many years to come.

A special appeal to new members, your contribution will make an impact far above the actual value of the contribution.  Remember, a state of the art Community Facility, in our area, on our doorstep, without having to be relocated away from our area is the target for our club.  Working in partnership with local clubs and organisations, it can only enhance the quality of life of future generations.

Finally, may I make a appeal to the hundreds of former members who had playing days over the past 25 years of the history of Merville United.  Your contribution is vital, and you know just what can be achieved.  YOUR Field of Dreams needs to be brought into the 21st Century.

Getting in touch is simple. Either email the club direct on 300 Club, or give Frank a call on 087-9616369. The First 2007 Draw will be held in Mooneys Bar, on the last Fridays of each month. Tickets are by direct debit, Annual Payment of 120 euro, or on the night for 10 euro monthly. RD
