Salthill Devon Under 11s very nearly put the icing on the cake over the weekend when they reached the national final of the Danone Cup. Unfortunately it was not to be as they went down 1-0 to Villa FC from Waterford at the last hurdle.
They qualified for the finals a few weeks ago after winning the North Western region (Drawing 0-0 with Merville United in the Process!!) and carried on the winning ways by beating Portlaoise 2-0 in the first Game. Next up was Woodlawn from North Dublin and again the Devon Boys ran out 2-0 winners. Confidence was sky high at this stage and it needed to be because next up was the current Irish Cup holders Cherry Orchard. This didn't phase the lads and again with an absolute powerful performance they won 2-0.
We would like to thank all the parents that made the trip to Dublin and for working with us all season getting the Lads to Training and Matches.
