awarded under the Local Agenda 21 Environment Partnership Fund Grant 2007

Merville United applied to the Department of the Environment for funding to create Irelands first (We believe!) Carbon Neutral Soccer Team, which was this years victorious Saints U12 Squad. The Merville United Green Project will educate our four soccer squads Under 12 in the value of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in the activities of our club.

This Project will also provide for our four teams Under 12 (Three boys and One girls) to go "Carbon Neutral" Next season, by recycling, planting trees, car pooling to training and matches etc. We also will provide for unused soccer clothing and Kit to be collected, and made available to children in Africa.  All Club Newsletters and communication will be using recycled paper, and it will be indicated thus, and in local media and on our website.
