Garabandal is a small village in the Cantabrian mountains of Spain. Four young girls Conchita Gonzales(12), Loli Mazon(12), Jacinta Gonzales(12), and Maria Cruz Gonzales(11); saw an angel who returned to them eight times in order to prepare them for the coming of Our Lady. On July 4th 1961 Our Lady appeared to them and asked them to tell the people to make many sacrifices, to perform much penance and visit the blessed sacrament often. She warned if her requests went unheeded then a great chastisement would come upon the world. Our Lady taught the children many things over a five year period including the importance of sincere prayer, the need to say the Rosary and the need to convert. A great miracle was promised to convince everyone of the authenticity of these apparitions and Conchita will announce this eight days beforehand so that people will have time to go to Garabandal to witness the event.
