We have had many changes since the opening of the Autism class in September 2000. The class was eventually given a permanent place on the school grounds. A large building which houses two Autism classes, two toilets, two resource classes, as well as two rooms for the North Eastern Health Board Meath Team was built. The official opening of the building will be held on November, 16, 2001. There were not only changes on the accomadation front but also on staffing. Sadly, Mr. Bryan Kelly returned to his home in Toronto, Canada. Mrs Sandra van der Westhuizen from Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa replaced him. Fortunately Mrs Margaret Carney remained on and was eventually joined Ms Maura Farrelly as valuable members of the Autism staff. As numbers in the class also grew, a second teacher was sanctioned by the Department Education. St Michael's Learning Support teacher, originally from Australia, Ms Alysha Courtney, jumped ship and joined the Autism unit.

Mr. O 'Diomasaigh gladly welcomed our second girl to the school as well as our first junior infant of the year.
