Greenland Sharks are brown sharks that can grow as large as 21ft long though they are usually about 8ft to 14ft in length. They live in the icy Arctic Ocean all year round. They are often called sleeper sharks because they are quite slow compared to the other fast swimming sharks. Their flesh is poisonous to humans. Like all other sharks their skeleton is made from cartilage not bone. They have five to seven gills for breathing. |
