Scouting
We went to Mellery until Sunday 28th last weekend. We went from Friday 25th February 2005.
Thirty three scouts went on the bus. We set off at 7:15 on Friday evening and we arrived at 8:50. The bus went very slowly up the mountain. We slept in single beds in different dormitories.
On Saturday we had our own sports day. We had great crack. We had a tug of war between 2 teams. I was up front. We had to dig our feet into the ground, lie back and pull them over. We had to use a hose instead of a rope. Someone had hidden the rope. We pulled with all our might. My team was called 'The Mighty Hawks'. We were against 'The Woodpeckers'. We pulled and pulled and pulled. We fell down --- boy were we very, very sore ---- it was fair funny. We broke the hose. In the evening around 4 we had a running race and I came second. I was ten metres behind first place. Third place was behind me --- a mile behind.
We had a bonfire. It was a huge one in an old shed outside. I ate too many taytos.
Then I got sick. My dad had warned me not to eat too many taytos. We arrived home at 3.30p.m. on Sunday when Liverpool was winning. My team Chelsea won 3 - 2 in extra time.
