On Saturday, April 13th, 2002, Meath GFC of New York held its Annual Dinner Dance at 'Durows of Glendale,' Queens. The event was very well attended and a wonderful success.

This year, the club honored its President, Peter Caffrey, a native of Kildakey, Co. Meath. Also in attendance was the former great corner back, Robbie O'Malley who traveled over from Ireland as the club's 'Special Guest of Honor'. In the last couple of years, Meath GFC of New York have honored, Martin O'Connell & Sam Maguire Trophy (May 2000) and Tommy Dowd (May 2001).

Special awards were also presented to John Symth (Ballinlough) as 'Best Player for 2001' and Tom Clarke (St. Brigids) for 'Clubman of the Year'.

Of note, Meath GFC of New York under the guidance of Sean Coffey (Dinner Dance Chairman) launched its first Club Journal at the event. The journal launch was a tremendous achievement and the club is grateful to all businesses and individuals who generously contributed donations.
