Moorefield are U/16 League champions after been pushed all the way by Confey in a gripping final played in ideal conditions in St. Conleths Park as both teams served up a cracking game of football.
Barry O'Shea opened the scoring for Moorefield and Kevin Murnahgan added another after ten minutes.
Confey were awarded a penalty and Brian Corscadden cooly slotted home and Colm Coyle added a point to put them in front.
Moorefield, with excellent points from Darryl Flynn,Alan Thorpe and Ross Glavin. Moorefield were well on top at this stage and after a great move Alan Thorpe got on the end of a great pass from Eddie Crudden to rifle home a goal.
Michael Tracey pointed for the Moors almost at the stroke of half time but Confey came back up the field to win a free and again Brian Corscadden found the roof of the net.
Moorefield led by two points of the beginning of the second half and man of the match Kevin Murnaghan extened that with a fine point, after three minutes.
Confey midfielder Colm Coyle narrowed the gap again with a fine individual point.
Michael Tracy pointed from close range and Mark Doyle scored the vital goal for the Moors with ten minutes remaining, Confey refused to lie down and Graeme Cunninghan, Colm Coyle and Brian Conscaddan all pointed to leave a nail biting couple of minutes.
Alan Thorpe secured victory with a free to leave two points between the sides and a well deserved victory for Moorefield.
