Club Notes
The weather played havoc with the fixtures over the weekend with a lot of clubs affected and Moorefield was no exception with the Junior "C" championship semi-final fixed for Ballyteague being called off. However the Senior Football League game against Leixlip went ahead due mainly to the generosity of the Patrician Brothers Secondary School who allowed us to switch the game to their pitch at late notice and for that we are extremly grateful. The game ended in a convincing win for Moorefield playing some brilliant football in the conditions with only two of the scores coming from frees. On saturday next it is anticipated that all roads will lead to Navan for the Leinster Club Championship game against Meath Champions Dunsaughlin it is also anticipated the starting time for the game will be 2p.m. Also down for decision this coming sunday 12th November is the Junior Football League Div.1 Final Moorefield V Sarsfield fixed for Milltown at 11a.m.
Underage training continues on saturday mornings meeting at Scoil Mhuire at 10.45a.m. NEW MEMBERS WELCOME.

Senior Football League Div.1 Match Report
MOOREFIELD 2-15 LEIXLIP 2-5
Moorefield took another step towards qualifing for the Semi-Finals of the Leinster Leader Cup when they had a convincing win over Leixlip at the wind swept PBS Ground in Newbridge on Sunday morning last. Playing with the wind in the first half Moorefield were first to score when ‘Sos’ sent over. This point set the scene and was quickly followed by points from Cian O Neill, Bernard Behan and O Neill again. From then on it was one way traffic with Moorefield leading at half time 1-10 to 0-1.The second half saw Leixlip come more into the game with the wind at their backs but found scores hard to come by against a resolute Moorefield defence and when Brian McGrogan punched the winners second goal the game was over as a contest. Leixlip however always kept trying and were rewarded with two late goals from Cormac O Toole and Brian Fahy.
In an overall excellent team performance Moorefield were best served by: Sos Dowling, Ronan Sweeney, Martin Ryan, Martin Murray, Jim Bob Murphy, Seamus Murray, Kenny Duane, Kevin O Neill and Leslie Hogan.
Best for Leixlip were: David O Hanlon, Brian Fahy, Cormac O Toole and Ivan Clancy.
Scorers Moorefield: Sos Dowling 0-4, Cian O Neill 0-3, Brian McGrogan 1-1, Kevin O Neill 1-0, Ronan Sweeney 0-2, Martin Murray,0-1, Bernard Behan 0-1, Pa Murray 0-1, Robbie Delaney 0-1, Seamus Murray 0-1.

Club Notes
It was mixed fortunes over the weekend on the playing field with first the Junior A team going out of the championship when they lost to Milltown after a dower struggle in trying conditions. Milltowns superior fitness being the telling factor in the end.
However the junior C's continued on their winning ways but only just having to depend on an equalising point with the last kick of the game in normal time, the hero being Darren Butler when he coolly slotted over a 45 metre free to bring the game into extra time and which saw Moorefield score 1-11 to run out easy winners in the end. They now meet Caragh in the semi-final provisionally set for this coming Saturday 4th November.
Other fixtures this weekend include the SFL Div.1 game V Leixlip in Moorefield at 11am on Sunday 5 November.
Winners in the weekly draw were:
£100 S.Coyle,
seller Dan Ryan.
£50 Catherine Whelan, seller Paddy Collins.
£25 Mary
