Fr. Michael C.P.
Visit of Fr. Michael Ogweno Yogo CP to Mount Argus.

Fr. Michael is a member of St. Patrick's Province of the Passionists and assigned to Botswana.

Born 29th July 1965 in Homa Bay in Kenya he first joined the Passionists in Kenya, completing his philosophy studies at the Institute of Philosophy Consolata Seminary and his Theology studies in Tangaza College both in Nairobi. He came to the Passionists of St. Patrick’s Province in Botswana and having completed his novitiate was professed on December 8th 1998 in Molepolole, Botswana. Ordained in 23rd September 2000 he has assisted Fr. Patrick Sheridan CP in the formation of postulants at Molepolole.

For the last two weeks of June 2001 he was visiting the home Province of the Passionist in Ireland and Scotland. He journed to St. Gabriel’s Retreat where he renewed friendships with Frs. Oswald and Victor. Then on to Tobar Mhuire Monastery, Crossgar, Downpatrick, where he meet Fr. Paul Mary whom he remembered coming to his parish in Kenya when he was an altar boy. Also there was Fr. Mel who had been in Molepolole and Fr. Dermot who had visited Botswana.

From Crossgar he visited the Passionist Parish and Monastery in Ardoyne Belfast. It was a disturbed time in Ardoyne with violence erupting and regular bomb scares. Returning to Dublin he went on 1st July to St. Anselm’s in Kent for an eight weeks summer course before returning in the Autumn to Botswana.
