On Friday 22nd October a memorial Service was held in the Church at Mount Argus to pay tribute and pray for the late Jack Lynch. The service included the participation of Fr. Ralph Egan C.P.,P.P., Revd. Mary Hunter (Presbyterian), Revd. Nigel Mackey (Methodist), Revd. Wilbert Gourlay (Church of Ireland), Christopher Moriarty (Society of Friends) - all minister in the Rathgar area of Dublin. The address was given by Bishop Fiachra O'Ceallaigh, OFM. And the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Stereio attended.
The mourners were led by his wife Mairin and included his many friends and the people of Dublin.
Those in public life were led by the President Mary McAlesse, the present Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, members of the Government and numerous TDs and senators. Many retired politicians were present.

The night before the remains lay in the Church when many Dubliners came to pray and pay their respects.
