On the 25th May the Passionists
ordained in 1952 celebrated their Golden Jubilee of ordination.
On Friday 24th May Holy
Cross Ardoyne held a celebration for Fr. Salvian with Thanksgiving Mass
and celebration dinner for his friends and Passionists brethern.
On Saturday 25th May Fr.
Marius had his celebrations in The Graan, Enniskillen.
A week later on Sunday 2nd
June all the Goldden Jubiliarians gathered in Mount Argus for the celebrations
for Fr. Eunan, Fr. Neil and Fr. Paulinus.
The Jubiliarians
have worked in many differend areas of the world.
Fr.
Salvian Maguire,
now retired in Ardoyne, has worked in Paraquay on the Ocerseas Missions
and served the Province of St. Patrick as Provincial, Consultor and Local
Superior as well as preaching apostolates and parish work.
Fr.
Paulinus Healy,
now retired in Mount Argus, had worked in England and for many years was
Catholic Chaplain to the Airport in Toronto Canada. Also in Mount Argus
is
Fr.
Eunan Doherty
spent all his working life in Botswana, Southern Africa. There was renowned
for his care for the poor and as a builder of Churches.
Fr.
Neil Convery
(Mount Argus) spent his working life as an itinerant preaching giving
Missions and Retreats to people and religious throughout Ireland, England,
Scotland and Wales.
