Bro. Isidore Quinn C.P. R.I.P.

The death has occurred suddenly of Bro. Isidore Quinn C.P. in Princess Marina Hospital, Gaborone, Botswana on Wednesday 25th June 2008.

Bro. Isidore was born Henry Quinn on October 22, 1932 in Broughderg, Omagh, Co. Tyrone. He was a son of Robert and Alice (nee McGuigan) Quinn.

Isidore entered the Passionist in The Graan, Enniskillen in 1952 and after been given the name Isidore was professed on November 21, 1953.

The following year Bro. Isidore was assigned to South Africa at just 21 years of age. As there was no room in Bank, South Africa he went first to Kgale in Botswana and from there to Rustenburg in South Africa to familiarise himself with Southern African Farming ways.

In 1956 he was on the Passionist Mission at bank in South Africa with Fr. jerome Maguire C.P. After two years the area was abandoned by all due to subsidence as a result of mining. Bro. Isidore went up to Kgale in Botswana and began to work on the farm attached to St. Joseph's College, Kgale providing food for the boarders.

Bro. isidore was to remain in Kgale all his life. Quickly he became the farm manager and retired about ten years ago. He began to work in the Diocesan Offices for Bishop Boniface Setlalekgosi.

At his death Bro. Isidore was 75 years of age and 54 years professed as a Passionist.
