Trek America Tour 99' Itinerary
DAY 1:
Seattle> Spokane >Lunch @Cur D' Alene Lake > Tip of Idaho >start
of the cult of the orange hats Canadian Border ( clocks- 1HR) > Camp at Moyie
Lake ( Steam from the lake in the morning.....Heike makes a tough decision
whether 1 roll of film was enough ! ) .Spaghetti Bolognaise for dinner
DAY 2:
Walk around White Swan Lake+Lunch+Group Photos +Hot Springs +Kootenae Park (
Group Site) , Sangria+Burritos for dinner , Campfire and Chris introduces the
drinking games ( little did people know this would one day lead to Chubby bunny
and the loss of Japanese self respect!) . People debated whether the Northern
lights were a natural occurrence or the effects of Rum and coke.
DAY 3:
Hiking in Kootenae park> Sinclair Glacier +Lunch on Bridge
> Banff ( Tunnel mountain village 2 ) , Wayne gets power for
Camcorder!
Aki and Zimpai show Laura how to make Curry Soup ( Alan insists
the half bottle of soy sauce is what he normally adds to his portion)
DAY 4:
Lake Louise , Big beehive Tea House , Lunch at Lake Agnes , Wayne delays the
group again due to photo fetish, Emma gets to grip with Waynes camera as Wayne
poses on a Dangerous ledge overlooking the Lake Louise > Sulphur mountain
hot springs ( Everyone gets historic suits) Sarahs Camera nearly takes a swim
, while Emma pulls a waterproof one from her magic toybox. Dinner at the Barbary
coast. Aki ignores Alan advice on the Japaleno peppers..............................
3 jugs of water later Aki orders Benera Ice cream. Drinks follow in the rose
and Crown during which people confuse the Canadian public with a game of Ping
Pang Pong .Alan makes a move on a certain Japanese magazine editor...........
DAY 5:
Free day
Gondolas up Sulphur mountain . Still digesting the meal from the night before
the group take in the sights during a Buffet breakfast
Viewing deck with room "set in time" . Wayne asks the waitress to
charge his Battery !. literally. The 4 Brave ones go on a helicopter ride through
the Rockies (Royal Canadian tour-Alpine Helicopters) starting in Canmore.Some
go horse-riding .Shopping in Banff. After lots a chopping and a disagreement
over the size of Sarahs .....................Onions , Dinner is served . Chicken
pasta Italiano. Washing up left till the next morning so we could go to the
movies ( Stigmata and Sixth sense for some )
DAY 6:
Yoho National park Lunch at Takkakaw falls , hike over yoho pass ( including
Emmas tour of the meadow!) to Emerald lake. Camping at roys place. Dinner is
Betty's sorry Sarahs Lanchshire hotpot . Smores and Chocolate Banana's are consumed
next .Belinda takes the extended House tour ! with Roy while the rest get drunk
on Rum and coke . Sauna by the kicking horse river , Roy rebuilds Sauna next
day due to stench of RUM inside. Liane unable to come in her own bed so goes
to Emma's!
DAY 7:
Drove up the Icefields parkway to the Athabasca Glacier . Quote of the day [
Alan " How can I help you officer"] Glacier walk (with free marsbar
geology lesson) . Peter ( Guide) keeps the nice kid Robin under control while
offending the mother somehow who leaves the walk early ?. >past the Crowfoot
Glacier > Sunwapta falls (Canyon) and Peyto lake , Tourist zoo , Wayne uses
the " I'll be back in 2 mins" trick and collects his pizza in Jasper>
Camp in Whistlers campground outside town. Kebabs for dinner
DAY 8 :
Mountain biking in Jasper ( Valley of the five lakes ) , some went to Medicine
lake or Miline Lake> Aquatic center >Colin and Sarah go back to tidy their
tent. Dinner at Jasper pizza.
Later ...VEX at the Athabasca hotel . Quote of the evening [ Waitress
"She can't sleep here , you'll have to take her ( Wendy)
home"] Wendy wakes from her coma just in time for Wayne to
take a classic photo !. Lots of dancing later Alan drives the
evenings survivors home.
DAY 9:
Leaving Jasper we pass Mt. Robson ( 3954 M) , highest point in the Rockies .
> Rearguard falls > camp at the edge of Wells gray provincial park @ Buffalo
ranch , Some go horse-riding. Quote of the evening [Aki " Alan, how do
I fall off this horse"] Tacos for dinner
DAY 10:
Colin and Wayne do their best Van Packing of the tour and then unpack to get
Wendy's sleeping bag ! . Start of 2 day Canoe trip, Aki and Zimpai loose the
Canoe race by a narrow margin to Colin and Sarah. Lunch, BBQ, . JJ denys rumours
his Frisbee skills are from been an Extra "Crowd filler" on Baywatch.
JJ does a headstand to get his Brain in gear for the intellectual encounters
with Jane. All self respect is lost in a Game of Chubby Bunny. Wendy sings in
tune ! at the campfire while Sarah goes in Search of a yellow Lotus, Quote of
the evening [ Liane "I want a man to take me every morning"]
Margo does it Canoe style;due to the darkness though her Balance ! couldn't
be compared to JJ's earlier headstand. Wendy pretends to be asleep while tents
are put up in case of rain. Margo returns to DRY land. Heike appears out of
the darkness claiming her absence was due to a headache. Alan and Noko agree
flossing is a good idea first after the Marshmallows. Liane gets stereophonic
Snoring courtesy of Wayne and Emma.
DAY 11:
Paddle back to shore , Wendy does more than her fair share of paddling along
the way . Aki 's and Zimpai ( 20 L of beer lighter ) still can't their Canoe
back to shore first. Drive to cache creek , more near arrests along the way
(Waynes stubble suspected as reason for been stopped) . Helik.?M falls >(
Tunkwa Lake Resort , 50 campers ........2 toilets. Lasagna , Salad and soup
for dinner .
DAY 12:
Drive to Vancouver . Canada place, Stanley Park totem poles , Beach. Dinner
at the spaghetti factory followed by drinks in the Blarney stone. Party in room
111 . room 212 !
DAY 13:
Breakfast ( Waitress forgets the war is over and rations the eggs) .Museum ,
Liane finds her seat in the Omnimax. Sushi overlooking the bay . Some go to
IMAX theater . Dinner at Steamworks, Drinks in the hotel bar and then drinks
in 111 . 212 enough said!
DAY 14:
Belinda , Colin, Sarah and Emma leave the group for other encounters and we
return to Seattle leaving Vancouver via the lions gate bridge. Alan gives a
tour of his hometown . Liane shows Wayne cool Starwars shop in Pike place market
. We finish up the trip with Dinner at Rays fish house ( Sunset over the bay)
. One by one everyone gets dropped off at the final destination and everyone
agrees to write or email ( come on where are you all ) Wayne nearly forgets
his Jacket ( Alan ...You should have drove faster ..The minidisc player was
in the pocket) .Nobody hears what JJs group get up to........................................
