Comments : Hi, I saw that you have a Ryan (Bridget or Catherine?) Ryan in your geneology who went to Boston and married an O'Neill but you weren't sure of her name or anything. I am sending you a link to a woman who has her geneology online. Her extended family includes both the Ryans and the O'Neills from Providence, RI. My guess is that this may include the Ryan who married an O'Neill that you mention. I just thought you might be interested in looking. My cousins were descendents of Ryan/O'Neill. The link is http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=genediger2&recno=63973 Just copy and put it into your browser. Mary

Comments : Hi...I found your site while doing a search for a genetic counselor that we met with after my daughter was born (i.e. she is a happpy and healthy 2 year old who was just small at birth). I am 5 months pregnant now and am to meet with another genetic counselor because of something they just found in the ultrasound. (I am not worried though, whatever it is, we will deal with it :))
Thanks for the website. It's always nice to see real people! You are blessed with 2 beautiful children.

Comments : I just wanted to let you know how your piece "The Beauty of Holland" helped me when I was struggling to come to terms with my son's severe learning disabilities. It was given to me by a counsellor and it made me cry, but I instantly photocopied and laminated it to show to all my friends and family. You summed up exactly how I felt and it is a beautiful analogy. Thank you.
Reply: I'm afraid I can't claim the credit for the Holland piece, it was written by Emily Pearl Kingsley, but it still makes me cry when I read it! Olivia

Comments : We had a cousin whose syndrome was never named (he was born in the 30's)whose facial and behavioral characteristics were classic Williams. We were sorry that he had been born at a time when education and training were not available to him. He was extraordinary in so many ways!!

Comments : I am a public school music instructor in the U.S.D. #383 Manhattan-Ogden School district in Manhattan, Kansas. By 1994 I had been privileged to teach several children with a variety of disabilities. Interacting with these wonderful people inspired me to write a musical composition to honor them. In the year 2002 I was given Emily Kingsley's story that is featured on your website. At the time, the person who gave me the story assured me that it was an anonymous writer who had penned it. I did not seek approval to use the story (I should have done more research than just taking someone's word that it was anonymous). I proceeded to write another musical composition with the title: THE BEAUTY OF HOLLAND and credited the story as anonymous. About a month ago (2008) I began a re-write on the music (to score it for a more professional group to perform) and tried the web to find the story's author. I found Mrs. Kingsley's poem on your website. I have a goal to use her words, my music, and (permission granted) pictures of children with disabilities to create a DVD that could be given to doctors and subsequently to families who are learning for the first time that their child will have a disability. I believe that the DVD will help parents with the understanding that although life has taken a detour that they didn't plan, it has not, nor should it persuade them from taking the trip with their new baby to be. I hope that I can secure permission from Mrs. Kingsley to use her words and since you obviously have done so, I want to know how I might go about doing just that? I've tried google-ing her and contacting her via the internet, but I've been unsuccessful to date. Any help you could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Scott Freeby Thank you.
P.S. I will also be searching for a grant to create the DVD's as this project will be a not-for-profit work. Thank you again. Scott :)

Comments : Hi
Found your website whilst browsing the Moylan name. My grandfather was Alfred Moylan, born about 1897. We're having no luck in tracing him or his brother Joseph. We think they may have been adopted as babies, so we're not sure if Moylan was their original surname. It would be great if I could glean any information. Alfred was born in Portsmouth England, met and married Florence Mason and they had 5 children.
