This department runs one year intensive PLC courses in:

• Information Technology/Secretarial Studies

•     Childcare Studies with Special Needs

Quality Assured Certification is provided by FETAC, The Further Education and Training  Awards Council which was set up by the Departmennt of Education in 2001.

AGE PROFILE

The age profile of our students would be from 18 to 57.  For those mature students out there who may be considering coming back into education take that first step, phone us, we would be happy to talk to and advise you.  All the subjects taught in our College in all the areas of study are taken from scratch regardless of previous knowledge/skill.  If any parent or student would like to talk to us about a course just give us a call.

Leaving Certificate Standard is required for entry to the courses, but special provision is made for mature students who make up an important part of the courses. Learners must be over 18 with no upper age limit.  Job placement is a high priority on completion of the courses and  laison with employers and industry through a very valuable Work Experience Module has ensured that all participants who wish to enter the workforce are employed after graduation.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

• Students who have attained Leaving Cert Standard or equivalent

• Students sitting Leaving Cert in June 2007

• Mature Students and those wishing to avail of a second chance in education

• Students who wish to defer third level offers in order in order to acquire IT and secretarial skills
