Super St. Michael's win 'B' Final

St.Michael's … 5-8 Stonepark … 4-9

Last Thursday evening at 6:15pm the B final between St.Michael's and Stonepark was played. This had the prospect of a great game. It started off with St.Michaels on the attack and it ended up with Mark Mulligan scoring a long-range point. St.Michaels continued the scoring with two great goals from Mark Stokes. Stonepark fought back hard with a good bit of passing and finishing off with great scores. Both teams were playing very well with great defending and attacking. Stonepark were on the attack and Ruari Barrins took a great shot from way out but Joe Stokes pulled off a magnificent save to tip it over. At half time the score was 3-4 to 1-2 to Michaels. The second half started, from where it left off. Stonepark came back strongly with a great goal. But then a great kick out from Chris Warnock found the hands of Martin Nevin who passed it to Michael Stokes. He then passed it back and Martin Nevin scored. It was a high scoring match but Stonepark deservingly took the lead by one point with three minutes to go, but then Michael Stokes scored the goal that decided the game. St.Michael's won the B final by two points and Mr. Gannon was very happy with us.

St. Michael’s Gaelic team

When St.Michaels first started off Gaelic this year we were not very good. Our first game of the league was against last year’s champions Colmcille .It started of a bad game for us going by a few points,At the end of the game they won 4-14 to 2-2,we were destroyed.Next game was against Newtown, I thought they would be good But fortunately they were not that good and we beat them 6-7 to 0-3.Our next game was against Melview I knew they would be good but they Beat us by a good score. Our next game was against killoe and they Beat us as well, but they’re pitch was in very bad condition. We had to play stonepark next, they were winning but we were coming back but the  whistle blew and we lost by 10 points. Our next game  was against st.emers us and emers got of to a bad start but we managed to hold on to a draw.We were in a little blitz with melview , stonepark , and emers. We played melview and lost that, our next game we played emers and beat  them and we beat stonepark in the b final, which we should have being in the a final. we have played a few friendly's against Melview they won some and we won some too. We have our new jerseys now and we are looking forward to the championships.
