RIDER IMPROVEMENT

    Aimed at the rider with good basic skills.

    Tailored to enhance skills and improve areas of weakness.

    Can be combined with test preparation.

    Training carried out by full time professional M.R.T.G. instructors.

     

Course Content

  • Assessment of the riders existing skills.
  • Demonstrations and discussion of correct riding techniques.
  • Urban riding skills.
  • Rural riding skills.

Urban Techniques

    Emphasis will be placed on the need for heightened perception in busy traffic situations.

    Skills covered include :-

  • Observations
  • Lane discipline
  • Slow riding
  • Safe filtering.

Rural Techniques

    Emphasis will be on early recognition of hazards when travelling in higher speed limits.

    Skills covered include :-

  • Vision limit point
  • Cornering position
  • Planned overtakes
  • Breaking power
  • Road surface
  • Correct gearing
