The final of the Keanes Jewelers MFA Champions Trophy between Killarney Celtic (kerry) and Carrick Utd (Waterford) will take place on Sunday 11th December 2011 at Turners Cross, Cork with a 3-00pm kick-off.

A Special General Meeting of the Munster Football Association will be held on Wednesday the 14th December 2011 at the Rochestown Park Hotel, Douglas, Co.Cork, at 7-30pm where the only items on the agenda will be the adoption of memorandum and articles of Association and proposed amendments to rules. Admission will be by ticket only. Clubs wishing to attend should contact the MFA directly or through their League Secretary.

Clubs are reminded to get their entries in early for the Munster Senior, Junior and Youth Cup competitions, closing date is 1st September.
A Course for Beginner Referees is being run in conjunction with the FAI at College Corinthians Grounds, Castletreasure, Douglas, Cork on Sat and Sun 20th and 21st of August next. Details of the Course can be obtained from Brian O'Regan at 086-8113959.

The draw for the Junior clubs League Champions Trophy was made at the Council meeting of the MFA on the 18th June. The draw is published on this website under the competitions banner.

On Sunday, May 8, the FAI Umbro Intermediate Cup Final will take place at Turner’s Cross between Avondale United and either Sacred Heart or Cherry Orchard at 3pm. Admission will be €10 for adults and €5 for schoolchildren/OAP’s and a special offer of 16 children tickets + 4 adult tickets for €50. A feature of the day will be the presence of the Europa League Trophy, which was handed over to the Lord Mayor of Dublin by UEFA President Michel Platini on April 19. This will be the only visit of the distinctive trophy to Cork prior to the UEFA Europa League Final in Dublin on May 18. There will be an opportunity for those visiting Turner’s Cross on May 8 to see the trophy and take pictures.

The Munster Football Association is to organise a new competition for the 2011-2012 season. The competition will be for the winners of the top League Divisions of all affiliated Junior Leagues. As there are 12 affiliated Junior Leagues in Munster the competition will entail the following matches:
1st round: 4 games and 4 byes
Quarter Finals: 4 games
Semi Finals: 2 games
Final: 1 game
As a result of this new competition the MFA has decided that no Junior team will be allowed enter the Munster Senior Cup competition from the 2011-2012 season and the rules of the competition will be changed to reflect this decision.
The Munster Senior Cup will now involve Intermediate and Senior teams.

The open round draws for the Munster Youth, Junior and Senior cup competitions will take place at a meeting of the executive committee of the MFA on the 15th December 2010 and will be published on this website from the 16th December 2010.
Oct 2010
The Munster team finished 3rd in the annual Under 17 Inter Provincial tournament played in the Limerick Desmond League area over the 22-24 Oct weekend. The Munster team started well on Friday night with a hard earned 1-0 over Ulster, however they lost to Leinster on the Saturday by 4-2. Sundays game with Connacht was a tight affair with Munster having to win but a draw would have been succifient for Connacht. Munster dominated the game throughout but conceded two late goals to leave Connacht 3-1 winners of the game and tournament with Leinster piping Munster for runners up spot.

The draws for the early round stages of the Munster Cup competitions took place at a meeting of the cup committee of the MFA on Thursday 9th September 2010 and are published on this website.
MAY 2010
The final of the Lucozade Sport Munster Junior Cup between Clonmel Town and Carrick Utd will take place on Saturday 5th June 2010 at Cahir Park grounds, Cahir, Co.Tipperary with a 7-00pm kick-off. The final of the Senior competition between Waterford Utd and Midleton will take place on Thursday 10th June 2010 at the RSC, Waterford with a 7-30pm kick-off.

Following the decision of the FAI appeal committee hearing concerning the protest made by St Michael's FC against Pike Rvs FC, the MFA has decided to defer the semi-final game in the Lucozade Sport Munster Junior Cup between Pike Rvs and Carrick Utd, fixed for Sunday 18th April 2010 in Jackman Park, to carry out an investigation into the composition of the Pike Rvs team in previous rounds of the competition.

The MFA has decided, in view of the bad weather that is being experienced at present and because of the forecast for the next 7-10 days, to put back for 1 week the 4th round (open) games in the Lucozade Sport Munster Junior and Youth Cup competitions. This is being done in the interest of safety to save clubs from travelling in dangerous conditions. The 4th round of the Youths will now take place on the 23rd/24th January 2010 and the Junior on the 30th/31st January 2010. The MFA will co-operate with the FAI in arranging fixtures for clubs involved in both MFA and FAI competitions.
