![]() Mary played hockey and squash for her country while at Trinity College Dublin. At University Mary took a degree in English, Spanish and the History of European Painting. Mary grows all her own vegetables in Killedmond and is a keen gardener and an avid hill walker. |
Cllr. Mary White is a Green Party councillor on Carlow County Council, representing the Borris electoral area. She has been The Green Party's National Spokesperson on the Environment for the last two years. For over a year she has been canvassing to try and win a seat for the Greens in the next General Election in the 5-seat Carlow/Kilkenny constituency. In the Local elections of June 1999 Mary topped the poll in the rural Borris three-seater, becoming the first Green Party representative on Carlow County Council. In the 1997 General Election, Mary stood as a candidate for the Carlow/Kilkenny constituency. In an effort to gain a seat Mary walked over 3,000 miles - the equivalent of walking to Berlin and back! She polled over 3,116 first preference votes. Mary holds constituency clinics every day by appointment at Killedmond, Borris. Clinics also take place in Myshall on the second Tuesday of every month in the Credit Union Office Myshall 6.30 - 7.00pm | |
