JOB: NAVIGATION OFFICER AND SUPPLIES OFFICER
HOBBIES: Swimming and reading
COMMENTS : My favourite port was Rio de Janeiro. I took great
joy in seeing the kids from disadvantAGEd areas and different
backgrounds enjoying themselves onboard our ship and receiving
presents.
CAPTAIN Patricia did a great JOB in bringing LE Eithne
halfway around the world. Cool as a cucumber – this is her last
patrol with LE Eithne as she moves into the Maritime college – their
gain is our loss.
NAME: LT DAMIEN MC CORMACK
AGE: 33

COMMENTS : My favourite part of the trip was diving off Brazil
and at least the ship waited for me to come back. On a serious note I
really enjoyed working with the street children in Rio De Janeiro and
the NGO task Brazil.
CAPTAIN Damien will take over from Patricia. He will have a
tough act to follow but will be a great addition to a great team.

visited onboard.

place.
Seeing the kids enjoy themselves onboard the ship when they received
their presents.
Being nominated and winning the SAILOR OF THE DEPLOYMENT Award.

HOBBIES: Brisk walking, reading, going to the cinema.
COMMENTS : I never thought a ship would take me to South

skills in South America.
CAPTAIN Thanks for taking care of my RIBs.
NAME: PO/COOK EDDIE STANTON
AGE: 35
FROM: CORK BUT HAILS ORIGINALLY from KERRY
JOB: HEAD CHEF
HOBBIES: Soccer, golf, reading books and origami
COMMENTS : The highlight of the trip for me so far has to be my
2 visits to the hospitals in Buenos Aires and seeing the difference in
the standards compared to that which we have at home. The look on the
kids faces when they received the toys from the ships company was a
special moment. On par with that was meeting a survivor FROM
the Andes plane crash when we were in Uruguay. That was really special
listening to his story.
CAPTAIN The best PO Chef in the world.

blend in with the locals in South America and dressing up as a woman

shoes!

COMMENTS : My favourite port was Montevideo in Uruguay. The
people of this city were very friendly and made an effort to talk to
us even though we had very little Spanish and they didn’t drive like
lunatics, which seems very common in South America.
CAPTAIN Robbie will replace Alan in the galley.
