This was our first time to Venice and the hotel was perfect for us. It was directly accross the road from the main train station with trains running into Venice every few minutes. We found it much easier to stay outside of Venice and not have to drag bags on and off of water taxis and over steps and cobble streets. We would stay here again. One word of warning, if you stay in Venice after midnight, it can be difficult to get transport back to the hotel.The staff at the Hotel were very friendly and helpfull and it was a very nice experience

The Plaza Hotel is a very good hotel at a convenient location for a first time visit to Venice. It very cheap on the train to Venice and the Grand Canal is right in front of the Venice train station. Couple that with the bus stop and ticket kiosk just a short block away, and the airport is only 15 minutes away..The room was well furnished and clean and the bathroom was quite elegant. Breakfast was exceptionally good and we dined in one evening and that restaurant was very good also, with a good wine list. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed this hotel. The location if you are travelling by rail is excellent. Though it is not right in Venice, there is a train approximately every 10 minutes. This is the third time we have been to Venice and this is the second time we stayed in this area. There is a really good local shopping area that we discovered (about a 10 - 15 minute walk). We recommend this hotel.

location is great for busy travel itineraries. The staff is top notch and ready to help at a moments notice. My family was on a busy 10-day touring trip and the easy train access is a big plus, and a short cab ride to the airport when we left was easy. The staff is knowlegable of all local places of interest and transportation, and good at suggesting various options. Our 3 days in Venice were great...and we had a very nice work of art shipped home from the Murano Glass Factory also.

How to reach us

By train. Directly opposite the hotel, Mestre’s railway station offers frequent connections to and from Venice. All trains arriving from Rome, Milan, Bologna and the Brenner Pass and directed to Venice, Treviso and Trieste stop at Mestre station.

By car. Hotel Plaza is reached from Mestre’s Bypass system (Tangenziale) which connects the motorway exits for Padova, Vicenza, Treviso, Belluno, Trieste and Milano to the town of Mestre.

By Plane. Marco Polo International airport is situated only 8 km (5 miles) from Hotel Plaza. The hotel is happy to arrange, on request, private transport to and from the airport for the hotel guests. The hotel may also be reached by taxi or by taking the public bus service (Bus number 15 – the bus stop is only a few steps from the hotel).

Well worth a visit We just returned from our 4 night stay at the Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel. We were very impressed with the hotel. The hotel is perfectly located, directly across from the train station. Basically walk out the station, cross the street and Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel is right there. The check-in was efficient and quick, the staff perfectly spoke English so did the staff in other departments. The room was clean and spotless. The bathroom was large by European standards and probably even North American. Air conditioning worked well. The shower had good water pressure and no issues with running out of hot water. Our room faced the train station and the road but we did not hear anything, besides we were allocated on a 6th floor. The breakfast at the hotel was included in the deal and it was a great start to the day. Overall, my wife and I were well pleased with Plaza Mestre Venice Hotel . this place is definitely well worth a visit.

Ideally situated opposite the train station in Mestre. 1 euro and an 8 min train journey to Venice. Every train goes to Venice and every train stops at Mestre, at 5-10 min intervals. Excellent first class hotel, all staff friendly, offered room early, on arrival. Room newly decorated, very clean, bedding & towels changed daily. Stayed 6 nights. One word of warning, if booking from internet hotel sites and booking includes breakfast, make sure you have written proof, they do run a check. After providing proof to reception staff on arrival, we were told on two more occasions that our breakfast was not included. This was only a minor hiccup because we had proof and it did not spoil our stay at the hotel, the staff were apologetic after inclusive breakfast was confirmed. Air conditioning only kicks in above 23 degrees, but if the temperature is below this, then the open windows are sufficient. We'd definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to all, it was perfect for visiting Venice.
