Irish Naval Association visit the Western Front November 9th, 1998.

51 members of the Naval Association departed from Dublin on board the Isle of Inishfree, an Irish Ferry, bound for Holyhead and London for an overnight stay before travelling through the Euro-Tunnel for France.
On passage from Dublin to Holyhead a touching ceremony took place on board the ship. One of our members, Peadar Somers, died in August this year. His wife Angela, was encouraged to travel with our party on this trip. Angela asked that we scatter Peadars ashes onto the Irish Sea. Peadar had been a First Officer with Irish Shipping and had made numerous crossings on the Sea. This small, but moving ceremony, took place one hour after our departure from Dun Laoghaire.
