22 years ago this month Leading Seaman Michael Quinn DSM lost his life in attempting a rescue of Spanish seaman from their trawler on rocks off Bantry Bay. See ..Details... His Excellency The President of Ireland Michael D Higgins will unveil a memorial in Drogheda in his honour on Sunday 27th May 2012. see also 20th anniversary
