ERNE ANGLERS CARP FISHING TRIP TO TOLEDO SPAIN 2007

Erne Anglers Angling Club have just returned from the clubs annual fishing trip to Spain.
A total of 12 anglers took part with four going for the first time.
The weather was excellent with temperatures of around 20-25c every day and not a cloud in the sky.
The fishing was again top quality on the Castrejon Canal with average catches of over 30Kilos (70lbs) been
recorded for the week.
Top weight of the week was 53Kg (48 carp) taken on the pole, with over 40Kg a common weight.
Kenny Connor from Omagh took the biggest fish on the trip a common carp of 10lbs 12ozs.
 Three of the anglers also had a good day on the River Tajo in Toledo on the last day.

ERNE ANGLERS FLOAT ONLY MATCH

RESULT OF BILL CLARKE 8 AND ERNE ANGLERS FLOAT ONLY
MATCH 10

The latest round of the Erne Anglers Float only/Bill Clarke Winter League was attended by
a full turnout of 24 anglers on the Rosslea lakes in excellent weather conditions.

The top three anglers all drew on Inver lake in the high numbered pegs.

Winner was Russell Henry from Lisnaskea who caught 176 small fish weighing 4Kgs 950 on Inver 16, Tony Price Cootehill finished a close second (peg 18) with 4kgs 100, While Brenton Sweeney Cootehill finished third on peg 15 with 3Kgs 550.

The other section at Inver was very close with all anglers catching over 2kgs with Jack Tisdall Ballinamallard coming out on top with a catch of 95 Roach.

Lyons lake was also very close with John Balcombe Enniskillen and Andy Gregg Cavan
tying for 1st with a weight of 2kgs 940.

Roger Baker won Drumacritten Lake with a catch of 3kgs 030.

Next week is the Erne Anglers Winter League which will be on the River Erne around Enniskillen, book in at Cloughbally Mill Angling Centre if you wish to fish.

ERNE ANGLERS WINTER LEAGUE MATCH 8

Match 8 of the Erne Anglers winter league was fished by 19 anglers on the Ballyconnell Canal at no1 and no2 Locks.

Fishing was excellent, in very mild conditions. Dave Lees Enniskillen 3.450Kgs won a very close match fishing with caster at 5m on the Pole catching some quality roach, he was pegged at no2 lock peg 2.

Runner up was Billy Gilmore Kesh 3.200Kgs fishing on the canal at no1 lock and catching Roach to 14ozs on 9m.

Simon Huthwaite Enniskillen finished third in the same section catching 2.800Kgs, there were also six other 2Kg weights in the event.

Dave Slater Enniskillen and Gus Greaves Irvinestown won the other two sections.

Peter Jones continues to lead the league with only 5 matches to go.
