The 2004 Joe Doran Cup will run on Thursday next 10th June and Friday 11th June. This is an earlier date for the event as in other years it took place later in the season.
The format is mixed doubles. Single entries are invited. The draw will be a guarded one. In the event of more ladies than men entering, the appropriate number of ladies to match the number of men will be included in the draw. Early ladies entries will take precedence over the later ones.
There are less men playing in the club. However, the organisers will be trying to increase the numbers of men playing, so interested ladies should put their names down.
Please have your entries on the board by 9 pm on Tuesday next 8th June. The draw and schedule will be posted up on Wednesday evening.
The special sessions for beginners and players relatively new to the game will continue on Monday next 7th June and on Monday 14th June. Just come along between 7.30 and 9 pm, and you will receive some tips and guidelines on playing tennis.
If you are a beginner or consider yourself a very basic player, don't worry. These sessions are designed for such players. Racquets and balls supplied. Refreshment provided.
