An Easter Pageant was presented in St Mary’s Church, Newmarket, on the eight and ninth of April. It was the first time the people of Newmarket performed an Easter Pageant. The pageant was based on the passion, the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Eamonn Moynihan, the resource teacher in our wonderful school, played the most important part when he took on the role of Jesus. Other locals also assisted in the pageant, playing parts such as the twelve apostles, Mary of Magdela and Pontius Pilate. Large crowds attended on both nights and it was greatly appreciated by young and old. Utmost respect must go to the people who organized the pageant - a lot of work went into designing the costumes, making the set and decorating the church for the occasion. We are very grateful to Frs. Cronin and Corkery for organizing this wonderful educational and very interesting story.  We really enjoyed it.
