Professional Wedding Makeup Artist
" I believe a woman's wedding day is the most important day of her life, so I do my utmost to ensure that every bride looks and feels beautiful on that special day"
Lisa Boccuzzi
A wedding morning can be very hectic and stressful. Why not make it easier for you and your bridal party and have the makeup done in the privacy and comfort of your own home?
About Me
My name is Lisa Boccuzzi. I trained in Cosmotology in the USA and graduated
with Diploma in 1983. I moved to Ireland in 1993 and began working with a
professional photographer in north-west Mayo as a digital imager, designing
and producing
wedding albums. My love for Cosmotology never left me and I was always harassing
my friends to let me make them up for all of their special occasions. When
working for the photographer I began to notice how extreme and fake most
of the brides looked in their wedding photos and it concerned me! This
is when
I embarked on my mobile makeup service, and because I had the knowledge of
these two areas that were so diverse but yet were inter-dependent I knew
I had to do something about it. Since then I have prepared more than 300
brides
for their special day and have never been busier.
Products
Foundation: This should be the most expensive product in your makeup bag
as it is the 'canvas' which sets up the whole masterpiece. I use Elizabeth
Arden
as it gives great coverage, it allows light to reflect through and it lasts
the whole day.
Mascara: It's amazing how many people don't realise the importance of mascara.
It is meant to open up the eyes and bring them forward. The mascara should
have thickening, lengthening and waterproof qualities, and be applied in
layers. Always use black unless you're a redhead.
Lipstick: With wedding makeup lipstick should always be kept light, opting
for a stain or liner with gloss. Light shades of pink or natural earthy colours
are best.
Eye Shadow: Again, it should be kept light, using three complimentary shades
blended together instead of one solid colour. This allows light to be reflected.
When done effectively the eye colour is enhanced as opposed to being overpowered
by the eye shadow colour. Key tip: Lilacs suit brides in stark-white dresses
best and copper and brown shades look best with off-white or ivory dresses.
Black Liquid Eyeliner: Is a MUST as eyes are THE most important feature on
the face, and the first thing noticed by the groom. A thin line should be
applied as close to the lash line as possible giving the lashes a thicker
appearance
while making the eyes look bigger and the whites whiter.
While I use other products including bronzers, blushers and powders the above
products are the most misused by people. I also want to stress the importance
of starting on a cleansed moisturised face with a light reflecting agent.
When light is allowed to reflect through the makeup it gives a natural appearance
and glow without having the makeup looked caked on, which is extremely important
for optimum results for your wedding photographs. Remember, photographs last
forever!
Prices
Trial Makeup Bride: I spend at least 1 hour consultation getting to know the
bride and discussing her expectations for her day, regarding colours, skincare
and preferences. This consultation costs €50.
On the Day: Bride: €35
Bridesmaid: €30
Junior Bridesmaid: €15
Because the Mother of the Bride does so much selflessly it is easy to forget
how important this day is for her as well. And for that I salute her and offer
her a complimentary makeover on the day.
Travel expenses are free within a 20-mile radius of Belmullet. If you live
outside that area please call for a quote. I will try not to be too hard
on you!
