The extension is evidence of the family's desire to expand the nature of living and to integrate their lives with nature , llight and space. Many of these projects have been designed with a view towards new forms of construction and new methods of procurement, prefabrication etc.. This small garden room has a "heat engine" as part of the design, based around a stove where energy form both the sun and the stove will be used to provide supplemental heat for the whole house. The frame structure also allows it to occupy the ground without disturbing the existing underground services.
