The barbeque was a great success. Some twenty five members of NWCC attended along with a like number of our visitors Royal Brussells. Many thanks to all who came, brought salads and helped to lay out food etc. and also to those who stayed to clear up afterwards. We are particularly indebted to Gregg Hawson and Pierre Etellin of Royal Brussells, who expectly oversaw the conduct of the fire and cooked all evening for everyone. Many thanks go also to Kevin Alwright for making such excellent facilities available and to John the groundsman for his hard work in cutting the cricket field three times last week to present it in fine order.
Colin make a gracious speech on behalf of Royal Brussells to which Robin replied. Pierre then read the tourists' weekend fines - a lengthy list of misdemeanours with varying penalties. Young Jack collected the money in a tin box; this yielded a tidy sum and NWCC carefully noted the procedure as a useful moneyspinner.
I am expecting by email some photos of the weekend taken by Chris Weekes of Royal Brussells. I will post them here when received.
