The North West Oval Racing Club
was formed in early 2001, we're two years old
now, with the aim to provide
an affordable alternative in motor sport
for the average person out there willing to race.

N.W.O.R.C . is a Hotrod club
and is affiliated to the Irish Hot-Rod Motor Racing Federation and all it's race meetings
are held under the rules and regulations of the federation. It is a non-contact,
head-to-head, high velocity, standard octane and
fast flowing adrenaline motor racing event.
It is not for the meek at heart but then again, neither is life! This
sport is not to be confused with Stock Car Racing, Banger
Racing or Flappers. |

Since it's inception, the club has grown from strength to
strength with a membership of over 250 and this figure is increasing fast. There
is plenty of interest from all walks of life in this form of racing. This is
true from both a spectator and the competitors points of view.
Racing is done around an "Oval" track as the club name
suggests. The cars are pitted against each other in head-on racing in six
standard classes. However, there are a further 4 classes and they are Ladies,
Juniors, Intercounty Classes 1,2,3 and finally Intercounty Classes 4,5,6. There
are also consolation races for those having the bad fortune of not winning any
trophies. Can I say any fairer than that!
