Book Rental Scheme

O’Carolan College was one of the first schools in Leinster to successfully introduce a book rental scheme. This involved borrowing substantial amounts of money. The scheme has been very successful, and continues to ease tremendously the burden of took purchase for parents. Rental is due on September 1st and those in greatest need can avail or some grant assistance.

Text books are constantly updated and renewed.

The Book Rental cost is £40 per year for all students, and is due for payment on Sept. 1st.

Book grant forms are given to each family, providing further alleviation.

Students are expected to maintain their books well, and any book lost or damaged has to be paid for.

All books are covered with "contact" provided by the school.

Each teacher catalogues his/her set of class books and is responsible for collecting up these books at the end of the year. Book inspections are carried out throughout the year.

The Book Rental Scheme has been a great success due to the great efforts of teachers and the co-operation of students. It allows classwork to start without delay in September for all students.
