OCEANVILLE HOUSE is situated on an elevated site in the picturesque sea-side village of Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, gateway to the world renowned Burren Region and the natural wonder of the Burren National Park with its unique variety of flora, plant life and rock formations.
The house itself commands a panoramic view of beautiful Galway Bay and its renowned sunsets, made famous by, among others, Bing Crosby.

Inishmaan is the next largest and as with Inisheer is a haven for botanists having a wide variety of Arctic and Mediterranean plants such as Orchids, honeysuckle and Irish Saxifrage.

Inishmore is the largest of the Islands which has spectacular series of Bronze Age forts in a superb state of preservation.

There are three islands which make up the Aran Islands;
Inisheer, Inishmaan and Inishmore.

Inisheer is the smallest and has a similar landscape to the Burren. The everyday language is Irish and has one of the most beautiful beaches on the western seaboard.

Bunratty Castle is an authentic mediaeval castle built in 1425. Mediaeval banquets are held on a nightly basis.
The Folk Park is contained within the grounds and Irish village life is recreated with 19th Century rural and urban dwellings. There are eight farmhouses, a watermill, a blacksmiths forge, a village street pub, post office, school, doctor's house, hardware shop, printers, drapery shop, pawn shop and village hotel. In the park, you can see traditional crafts such as bread baking, knitting, weaving, pottery and photography in their natural setting.

This 7th Century Castle, formally a stronghold of Guaire, the King of Connaught, now provides an insight into the lifestyle of the people who lived there from 1520 to modern times. It also hosts mediaeval banquets in the evenings.
