On Turbo engines, the most common way of increasing power is to increase boost pressure. The best way of controlling boost pressure is electronically, using a solenoid valve to accurately control the pressure to the wastegate(s). This solenoid valve diverts air to the wastegate(s) making them open at a higher pressure. The more air than can be diverted, the more boost can be achieved, that is why the Blitz Dual Solenoid Boost Control (DSBC) uses a two valves built into one unit to flow more air |

When a turbo engine is modified and the boost pressure is increased, the original dump valve seldom has enough flow to dispose of unwanted boost when the throttle is shut quickly. This causes turbo stall and repeated stalling causes damage to blades and bearings, and longer "turbo lag". The Blitz Dump Valves overcome this problem! |

Turbochargers run
at temperatures of up to 1000 degrees, and when the
engine is switched off, the oil supply to the bearings is
cut. Without the turbo being allowed to cool, the
bearings are subject to excess temperature and will fail
early. People rarely leave their engines idling to allow cooling, but the Blitz Turbo Timers allow the engine to keep running for a set time after the car is left. The Dual Timer also has a built-in boost gauge. |
