Paddy was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on 23rd July 1976. At 1.80m (5' 11") and 69kg (10st 12lb), he is a talented striker and has played in both the junior and senior Scottish soccer leagues.
Paddy has played with a dozen teams during his career. He started with Eadie Star Under-18s for a season (1993-1994), then spent the next four seasons with Greenock Morton FC (1994-1998). During this period he was briefly loaned out to Beith Juniors FC, and also to Ards (in Newtownards, County Antrim, Northern Ireland) where he scored 8 goals from 20 appearances. He spent seven fruitful seasons with Dumbarton FC (1997-2004) where he scored 77 goals from 175 appearances. This tally memorably includes the first goal to be scored at the new £2.5M Strathclyde Homes Stadium on 2nd December 2000 (when Dumbarton FC beat Elgin City FC 3-0). He moved to Stenhousemuir FC for a season (2003-2004), then Linlithgow Rose FC (2004-2006), then settled at Bellshill Athletic (2005-2008). After trials with Cumnock FC and a brief stint with Ardeer Thistle FC, he moved to Arthulie FC (2007-2008) and then Bonnyrigg Rose FC (2008-2010). He is currently turning out for Kilsyth Rangers FC and is a regular goal scorer. Between October 2010 and March 2011, Paddy scored in 8 successive matches to set a new club goalscoring record.
Paddy made an appearance as a Dumbarton Footballer in the sporting film "A Shot at Glory" (2000) starring Robert Duvall and Michael Keaton.
