CUCHULAINN
Celebrate the 90th Anniversary of 1916 Rising with this Limited Edition piece created in Dublin. It forms part of a limited edition
collection of 1,500 pieces worldwide.
Known as the champion of Ulster although not originally from there, Cuchulainn is probably the best known of Irish Heroes. Originally known as Setanta, he obtained his name Cu-Chulainn after slaying the Hound of Chulainn. Although having obtained his name in a peculiar way Cuchulainn was more noted for his heroic battles, having once single-handedly taken on the armies of Queen Maeve. The people of today would be more familiar with Cuchulainn as the figure in the G.P.O. in Dublin which was the headquarters of the 1916 Rising.
