Mizen A.F.C. was formed prior to the 1997/98 season & currently has over 50 full paid up members. The club plays in the West Cork League Div.1. & takes part in all the cup competitions organised by the league. The West Cork league is affiliated to the FAI.
Membership for Mizen A.F.C. is open to anyone with an interest in playing football on a regular basis or to those simply wishing to keep fit & active. The club consists of two sections.
Senior Section; open to males over 16yrs. The annual fee is £10/person. (This is a requirement of the league.)
Junior Section; open to boys & girls between the ages of 8 & 15yrs. the annual fee is 50pence/person. (This fee must be paid in respect of insurance.)
The league season for the senior players starts in August & finishes in March/April. Games are played every Sunday during the league programme, which consists of 18 matches.
Training/Coaching takes place twice a week during the season for senior section, generally Tuesdays & Thursdays. Times vary depending on the time of year.
All players should provide their own kit including boots & shin guards. Warm clothing, such as a tracksuit is also recommended for use after the session.
