The Junior Interprovincial Table Tennis Championships played in Cork on Saturday were
dominated by teams from Leinster and Munster who shared the 6 titles available evenly between them.
In the U-17 Boys, Munster confirmed their reputation as favourites with a convincing 5-1
victory in the final against Leinster. As expected, Irish Number1 Junior, Mark White did
not drop a match while Gary Noonan was also in outstanding form for the champions as he
maintained a 100% record. Munster also collected the U-17 Girls title, beating Leinster in a one-side final.
The same Munster trio of Louise Long, Jean O'Sullivan and Linda O'Sullivan will also represent Ireland in
the Home Countries Championships in Perth, Scotland next week.
The U-14 Boys title went to Munster while Leinster collected U-14 Girls as well as the 2 titles
on offer at the U-12 level. Leinster won the overall title due to accummulating more silver medals
than their Munster counterparts.
