Delighful, detached, original, old world, stone-built, two-storey
farmhouse with farmyard, outbuildings and paddock. It is quite a
few years since I last sold a similar property, and I am sure, if
you have been looking for something like this, you will now realise
just how scarce and sought after they have become. Although
unoccupied for many years, the owners, who live next door have kept
a watchful eye on it, and consequently it has not been allowed to
deteriorate too much. This charming house oozes character, a
particularly nice feature still retained in the kitchen is a heavy
stone ledge on which the full water buckets were stored to keep
cool. In need of restoration it has the following accommodation:
Living Room: with fireplace.
Kitchen: with fireplace, and as mentioned previously the
bucket storage space.
Bathroom Space
Upstairs: The entire upstairs is open-plan, but could be
divided into three large bedrooms.
Outside: The stone-built outhouses are dotted around the square
shaped farmyard, ½ acre paddock (yet to be fenced off) with access
from the bottom of the yard. The entire stands on almost 1 acre.
Directions: From Enniscorthy, take the N30 (Enniscorthy/New
Ross Road). Continue on straight for about 8 miles to Clonroche
village, take the first turn to the left in the village, just at a
small post office. Continue on down this country road for 1 mile
and take the first turn right. This is a narrow little road, the lane
to the farm house is about ¾ mile up the road on your left hand side,
and is more or less opposite a two up two down cottage on your right
hand side. The farm house is owned by Mr Pat Murray who lives in a
bungalow right beside it.
