Anthrax was formed by guitarist Spitz and original
guitarist Scott Ian in the early 80's and mixed Metallica and Slayer style speed/thrash
metal with humor, which is often left out of metal. They also experimented with hip-hop,
due to their tour with Public Enemy in 1991. After being left as a 4-piece in the mid 90's, they disappeared from the public eye for three years but were included on a Twisted Sister tribute album. Caggiano replaced original guitarist Ian who left to become a presenter on VH1. |
