Guitarist Stromblad left his former band, Ceremonial Oath, to set up In Flames. His
lifelong idol is Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith, and this shows in his Maiden
influenced guitar licks. In Flames released their debut album in 1994 and through many lineup changes, it wasn't until 1997 that they settled on the current lineup. In Flames are the pioneers of the swedish melodic death metal scene and many others, like Arch Enemy, have followed in their footsteps. |
