Prolific frontman Fred Durst grew up in a Christian community in Jacksonville, Florida,
and was ridiculed for loving black music. In high school, he picked up skills such as
rapping and b-boy dancing and became a tattoo artist, which helped him form a friendship
with KoRn. After a brief prison sentence for attacking his girlfriends lover, he decided to clean up his act, using bassist Rivers and drummer Otto from a jazz band. He stole guitarist Borland from a local band and ex-House Of Pain member DJ Lethal joined after being on tour with the band. From their rise and rise to fame, Limp Bizkit were constantly ridiculed for their tactics to become famous - pay for airplay scams, and today, although selling millions of records world-wide, are hated by many more people and artists alike. Wes Borland left at the end of '01 due to his cat dying. |
